1. Cookieless audience measurement

Smart IT uses its own Matomo installation to measure in aggregate how the website is used and improve its content and operation.

Analytics operates in cookieless mode: it does not create Matomo cookies or store persistent visitor identifiers in the browser.

Smart IT's public pages do not use cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking purposes.

2. What we measure

Audience measurement may provide aggregate statistics on:

• pages visited, navigation, entry and exit pages, approximate duration, bounce and scroll depth
• language used and language changes
• interactions with services, contact calls to action and other website elements
• device type, browser, operating system and screen resolution
• source or referrer of the visit
• approximate geographical location

This information is used exclusively to understand how the site operates, measure its audience and improve its content and services.

3. Privacy protection

Matomo is configured without User ID, persistent fingerprinting, proprietary persistent identifiers or mechanisms to link visitors across different websites or domains.

Navigation information is not linked to data submitted through the contact form. Matomo does not receive data entered in its fields.

Analytics is not used for behavioural advertising, remarketing, individual commercial profiling, session recording or heatmaps.

Analytics data is not provided to third parties for their own purposes.

4. IP address and approximate location

To obtain an approximate geographical location, Matomo may temporarily use the IP address and subsequently apply anonymisation techniques.

The IP address is not retained as a complete identifier in analytics data.

We do not request access to the device's precise location or use GPS data.

5. Source and page addresses

Matomo retains the referrer when available to understand the source of visits in aggregate.

Page addresses sent to Matomo do not include query parameters. We do not perform specific UTM, MTM, PK, Piwik or Matomo campaign attribution, and other arbitrary parameters are discarded.

6. Retention

Raw visit and action data is retained for 395 days.

Aggregated statistical reports are retained for 25 months.

The retention policy is reviewed periodically.

7. Cookies, consent and control

The current measurement setup operates without analytics cookies and without persistent visitor identifiers.

For this reason, public pages do not display a cookie banner or offer a specific Matomo opt-out mechanism.

Any cookies or technologies strictly necessary for the operation of certain services, if applicable, will be limited to that purpose.

If the purposes or configuration change, Smart IT will adapt the website's operation and the information provided where necessary.

8. Changes to this information

This information may be updated when the Matomo configuration, the technologies used on the website or the applicable criteria change.

The version published on this page will be the current version.
